Usually you're using a lot of simple machines, or burner machines to produce things. This stage is where you're walking everything around by hand, not using a whole lot of automation, and most things you're needing to craft by hands instead of running to a production line to retrieve it. Personally, for me its part of the progression for my maps. Look both ways before you cross the tracks. The only significance is life, which leads to the further wisdom. I asking myself how to put that supplies into my oretrains without a waste of time. However my outpost dont have a waiting zone for that supply train. That comes with the downsides of longer and slower trains. My attempt to fix that, was to delete the supply train and add a 5th waggon with only supplies. I forgot how I fixed that, probably had to add another wagon. Seemed to work well enough but I once I hit the ~12+ Outpost mark I started having supply issues. Then it would speed off to the next post while Bots took from the chest. It would drive in and wait X seconds while Filter Inserters took out the packs and fuel into a provider chest. It's been a fairly long time since I've done a real megabase so take what I say with a grain of salt.įor that particular issue I ended up making a 1 Cargo Train that would deliver Repairpacks and Fuel to each of my Ouposts. Maybe my goal of 100k Iron ore / min is a bit to high and 50k per min is more realistic. Im planning to seperate the smelting area for each type of ore. The main way I've seen megabases be done, is to have an outpost for every resource, although this obviously isn't needed.Įxample: Have an outpost (or a few.) for smelting, then have an outpost for circuits, and an outpost for red circuits, and an outpost for. However i tested this with Robotspeed +1000%. I found out that for some reason its better (UPS wise) to have larger smelting area with bots than smaller smelting area with bots.īlue Belts are a bit worse than robots, ups wise.
